Lyon County Commissioners have a pair of field trips scheduled when they convene for the first time in 2024 Wednesday morning.
Commissioners will convene for a study session at 8 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers before traveling to Road A to view railroad crossings for information-gathering purposes. Commissioners will then have a fence viewing in Southeast Lyon County around 10 am before adjourning around 11:30 am.
The study meeting will precede the county’s first action meeting of 2024 Thursday morning. During that time, commissioners will consider approving an invoice of $73,820 from the Kansas 911 Coordinating Council for 911 call handling to be paid from county 911 funds.
Commissioners will also consider approving a quote from Hayden Tower Inspection Repair for work in Allen and Olpe for a total of $15,780. Assistant Lyon County Engineer Jim Brull will present a pair of change orders related to the Highway Department’s new facilities.
County controller Dan Williams will also consider a resolution to waive the GAAP requirements in Kansas Statute 75-1120. A pair of executive sessions, one each for non-elected personnel and legal matters, are also scheduled.
The action meeting will begin at 9 am inside of the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
