The state of city government will be one of the highlights for Emporia city commissioners as part of their meeting schedule Wednesday.
Commissioners begin with an action meeting at 11 am at the Municipal Court Room. That meeting will include possible approval of a Police Department remodel with Evergreen Construction as the main contractor, as well as the State of the City address from Mayor Susan Brinkman and two executive sessions, one for discussions related to financial or trade secret data and another for attorney consultation.
The business meeting follows, also at the Municipal Court Room, to elect mayor and vice-mayor, approve surety bonds and to designate the official city newspaper and financial institutions.
The study meeting then follows at City Conference Room 1 AB. Business will include amendments to the Neighborhood Revitalization Program map, wastewater rates and commissioner appointments to numerous boards.
