The state’s December tax collections went over $1 billion, but they also continued the recent trend of missing projections.
The December total was $1.043 billion, below expectations by almost $37 million or 3.4 percent — and below December 2022 by almost 4 percent. Individual income collections were above estimates by 4.5 percent and above December 2022 by nearly 6 percent, but corporate income revenues missed estimates by over 14 percent and the December 2022 mark by over 16 percent.
Combined retail sales and compensating use tax receipts missed estimates by 1.8 percent and December 2022 by 1.6 percent.
