As the Kansas Legislature begins its work Monday, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has announced a news conference to start her schedule for the 2024 session.
The governor will discuss a currently-unspecified legislative priority, planning “brief remarks” as part of her time with the media.
Governor Kelly has already spent much of the last three months renewing her longstanding push to expand Medicaid.
The governor will also have her official State of the State address at 6:30 pm Wednesday, followed by the Republican response. Due to other commitments, KVOE will not broadcast the speech or response but will have stories involving comments from the governor and local lawmakers.
Kansas Supreme Court Chief Justice Marla Luckert will deliver her State of the Kansas Judiciary address at 1:30 pm Wednesday.
