Emporia Fire made quick work of a chimney fire Sunday evening.
Fire crews were dispatched to 1530 Williby Lane just before 7 pm, finding fire in the chimney box and at the top of the chimney. Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Tony Fuller says there was creosote buildup in the fireplace flue.
No damage, fire extension or injuries were reported.
Americus and Olpe fire departments were initially dispatched as mutual aid.
