It’ll be a battle of the Spartans on Thursday as Emporia High will take on Wichita Collegiate in the 4-5 matchup in the first round of the Bluestem Classic in El Dorado. Tipoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. The RV-Doc Pregame Show will begin at 4 p.m. on 14 KVOE-AM/96.9 FM.
If Emporia High defeats Wichita Collegiate, it’ll play the winner between Kapaun Mt. Carmel and El Dorado at 7:45 p.m. Friday. If Emporia High falls on Thursday to Collegiate, it’ll play the loser between Kapaun and El Dorado at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
If Emporia High plays for seventh place, it’ll be at 11 a.m. Saturday. The fifth-place game is scheduled for 12:45 p.m. The third-place game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. The championship game is set for 4:15 p.m.
Thursday’s game for Emporia High will be its first game since January 2, a 58-42 win at Hayden. Emporia High takes a 5-2 record into the Bluestem Classic. Wichita Collegiate is 5-3 and has won its last two games defeating Wellington on Wednesday and Clearwater on Friday.
Other teams competing in the Bluestem Classic include Goddard, Manhattan CHIEF, Wichita Trinity, and Arkansas City.
