There was one upset in the boys first round games in the Flint Hills Shootout held Wednesday.
Osage City, the No. 7 seed, upset West Franklin, 72-65, at West Franklin. Kasen Parsons led Osage City with 21 points. Osage City will play Chase County, the No. 3 seed, at 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon at White Auditorium. Chase County defeated Central Heights 53-40. Tag Groh led the Bulldogs with 16 points.
On the top side of the bracket, top-seeded Lyndon had no problems with Northern Heights, 76-21, at Lyndon. Daxten Miller led Lyndon with 19 points. Lyndon will face Council Grove at 7:30 p.m. Friday night. The Braves defeated Mission Valley 46-38. Brycen Palmquist had 20 to lead the way for the Braves.
Girls first round games are set for Thursday at White Auditorium. The 4-5 match between West Franklin and Mission Valley will start the day at 3 p.m. followed by the 3-6 matchup between Chase County and Council Grove at 4:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., top-seed Osage City takes on Central Heights. The final game of the night features Lyndon and Northern Heights.
