A cause and damage estimates are currently pending after a fire developed at an Emporia business late Wednesday evening.
According to Emporia Fire Batallion Chief Ryan Conley, Firefighters, Emporia Police and Lyon County Sheriff’s Deputies all responded to Guion’s Showcase, 2023 West Sixth Avenue, just after 10:20 pm.
Conley says there was a large amount of smoke present when they arrived, however, the exact intensity of the fire is still uncertain.
No injuries were reported and Conley says there was no extension from the greenhouse to the main building. Emporia Fire is leading the investigation with more details to be announced at a later time.
