While the primary election is coming in August and the general election is in November, the Presidential Preference Primary is coming much sooner to Kansas.
Eight candidates, four Democrats and four Republicans, filed with the Kansas Secretary of State’s office to participate in the Presidential primary March 19 as announced Friday.

On Sunday, DeSantis dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Trump, the current Republican leader.
Residents wanting to participate in the Presidential primary have a Feb. 20 deadline to register or update their voter registration. More information about the Presidential Preference Primary is online at VoteKansas.gov.
