After Wednesday’s quarterfinals at the Lyon County League Tournament, the top four seeds are onto the championship semifinals.
The Marais des Cygnes Valley girls rallied in the second half of their quarterfinal to defeat Burlingame, 51-44. MdCV was led by Akyra Traver’s 28 points. Burlingame was led by Kaylin Noonan with 16 points. MdCV will play Olpe who had no trouble defeating Southern Coffey County, 77-15. Kadey Robert led Olpe with 19 points. On the boys side, Madison held off Hartford, 41-39. Colton Isch had 12 points to lead Madison. Nolan Trester had 10 for Hartford. Madison will play Olpe who had no issues with Southern Coffey County, 76-24. Brecken McGuire led Olpe with 21 points.
The Olpe girls will play MdCV at 7 p.m. Friday while the Olpe boys will play Madison at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
The consolation semifinals will take place on Thursday. At 4 p.m., it’ll be the Waverly girls taking on Hartford. At 5:30 p.m., it’ll be the Waverly boys taking on MdCV. At 7 p.m., the Burlingame girls will take on SCC. At 8:30 p.m., SCC will take on the Hartford boys.
All four games will air on Country 101.7 FM, KVOE.com/listen, the Audacy App and KVOE.com/tv. Coverage will begin around 3:55 p.m.
