Three games took place in the consolation side of the bracket of the Lyon County League Tournament Thursday at White Auditorium.
The first girls consolation semifinal had the No. 7 seed Waverly upset No. 6 seed Hartford, 40-36, in overtime. Josie Romig led Waverly with 10 points. Trinity Windle led Hartford with a game-high 13. Waverly will play Burlingame in the fifth place game at Noon Saturday. Burlingame defeated Southern Coffey County, 60-16. Kaylin Noonan led Burlingame with 21 points. Hartford will meet Southern Coffey County at 9 a.m. Saturday for seventh place.
On the boys side, Waverly defeated Marais des Cygnes Valley, 62-27. Ben Meehan had 27 for Waverly. Waverly will meet Hartford in the fifth-place game at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Hartford advanced to the fifth place game after Southern Coffey County forfeit its game due to a player shortage. Southern Coffey County will play MdCV for seventh place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Semifinal Friday begins at 4 p.m. with the Madison girls taking on Lebo. At 5:30 p.m., the Lebo boys will take on Burlingame. At 7 p.m, the Olpe girls will take on MdCV. At 8:30 p.m., the Olpe boys will take on Madison.
