Donation totals are down slightly from where they were a year ago, however, United Way of the Flint Hills leadership is still confident they will hit their intended target by the end of the annual fundraising campaign.
During a campaign update on KVOE’s Talk of Emporia Friday, Drive Chair Lynn Cunningham stated this year’s campaign was slightly behind where it was at this same time in 2022, roughly $25,000 specifically.
United Way Board Member Aaron Doty shared some historical information Friday which showed there has been a roughly 40 percent decline in donations since the 2019-2020 campaign.
Despite these trends, United Way CEO Mickey Edwards says the local community has continuously stepped forward to help push the campaign over the top, and she expects that to be the case once again this year.
Edwards adds several workforce campaigns and fundraisers are still ongoing at this time, with one of their more notable fundraisers coming up shortly. The 2024 KVOE United Way Radio Auction is set to begin on
Each year, the United Way serves more than 20 community partners and over 30,000 individuals across its eight-county service area which includes the entire KVOE listening area and Woodson County.
The United Way has not announced its campaign total or a date for its annual campaign celebration which is typically held in the late spring. If you want to donate to the United Way Campaign visit Unitedwayoftheflinthills.org or call 620-342-7564.
