Burlingame picked up a clean sweep over Northern Heights on Tuesday Night’s Area Game of the Week.
A 40-plus-point night for Burlingame senior Kailyn Noonan would propel the Lady Bearcats to a 62-26 win over the Lady Wildcats in the girl’s game.
Burlingame outscored Heights by double figures in every quarter of the ball game with Noonan putting up 15 of Burlingame’s 18 first quarter points. Noonan would end the night with 41.
Fellow senior Madison Hovestadt was the only other Lady Bearcat in double figures with 10. Head Coach Jeff Slater says he expected a high level of energy from his players and they delivered.
Senior Addison Landgren led Northern Heights with 8 points.
In the boy’s game, Burlingame would struggle in the second quarter but bounced back at the half to defeat the Wildcats 55-33.
Burlingame would get off to a fast start in the first outscoring Heights 20-4 but would only manage nine points in the second quarter with Heights scoring the same. In the second half, Burlingame would outscore the Wildcats 26-20 overall to close the win.
Burlingame sophomore Drake Skirvin led all scorers with 24 points on the night. Head Coach Eric West says it was a great team win.
Northern Heights was led in scoring by junior Clayton Collier with 10 points.
