Emporia city commissioners have varying points of emphasis for their meeting schedule Wednesday.
Commissioners could award a $2 million improvement project for Industrial Park IV, specifically Road F from US Highway 50 to Road 180, to Bruce Davis Construction. Commissioners could also accept the Kansas Department of Transportation’s CCLIP agreement for milling and overlaying Kansas Highway 99 in two zones — Commercial Street from Third to Kanas and Merchant from 12th to Interstate 35.
Separate memoranda of understanding are on the agenda, one for the Emporia Public Library and another involving the Emporia Recreation Commission and USD 253 Emporia. A public hearing to close out the Highland Street Community Development Block Grant project is also planned.
The action meeting begins at 11 am at the Municipal Court Room. The study session follows at City Conference Room 1AB, with conversations on wastewater rates, the 2024 Street Rehab program, event fencing and the Economic Development Structure Advisory Taskforce.
