Another Emporia High Spartan is set to be an Emporia State Hornet.
Emporia High senior Alex Allemang signed to continue his football career with Emporia State Wednesday at Emporia High School. Allemang joins a recruiting class of 34 for the Hornets on National Signing Day. Allemang said he’s fortunate enough to have the opportunity to continue his football career in his hometown.
Allemang said the relationships he developed with Emporia State’s coaching staff, especially with assistant coach Daniel Goodman was a reason why he wanted to become a Hornet.
During his four seasons as a Spartan, Allemang was a four-time Academic All-Centennial League performer. This past fall, Allemang was named second-team All-League as a punter. As a sophomore, he was an honorable mention All-League as a kicker. Allemang will join two of his former teammates at Emporia High at Emporia State. 2023 graduate Bobby Trujillo has signed with the Hornets as a mid-season addition while Parker Leeds is gearing up for his second year with the Hornets after being a redshirt this past fall.
