Junior Emporia State starting pitcher Ian Lanik was named the MIAA Co-Pitcher of the Week after his complete game victory over Colorado School of Mines on Saturday. Lanik got the ball in game three of the four-game series and allowed just one hit while tossing a shutout in the seven-inning game with seven strikeouts against just one walk. Just one Oredigger reached scoring position and none reached base in the final five innings. Lanik split the award with Central Oklahoma’s Preston Giltner who also tossed a complete-game one-hit seven-inning shutout. Emporia State’s homestand continues Friday against Colorado State-Pueblo. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
