Emporia State has selected Jane Grimley-Gunn as the next head coach for Emporia State soccer. Grimley-Gunn spent the past two seasons as the head coach at Missouri S&T. Grimley was a four-year player and scored 10 career goals for the Lightning. She replaces Bryan Sailer who departed the program after 12 seasons at the helm with a 121-87-34 record as the winningest coach in program history while leading it to all four of its NCAA Tournament appearances, including back-to-back trips to the Sweet 16 this past season. The Lady Hornets finished 14-6-4 in 2023 with an 8-2-1 record in MIAA play while winning the MIAA Tournament.
