A significant housing development in southwest Emporia could take procedural steps towards reality this week.
The Emporia-Lyon County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has two points of business for the Lockwood Subdivision. Board members could recommend both a final plat, or plan for dividing the land into smaller parcels. The board could also recommend Planned Unit Development status for the project, which is set to bring over 20 homes to the area immediately west of Sixth and Stratford.
Separately, board members could recommend what’s called a temporary travel trailer park at 802 Congress.
The meeting is at 6 pm Tuesday at the Municipal Court Room.
