Emporia and Olpe firefighters handled a small grass fire near Emporia on Friday afternoon.
Fire crews were called to Roads 160 and G shortly before 4 pm. Emporia Fire Battalion Chief Tony Fuller says the fire burned about three acres and also briefly closed a nearby road because of smoke.
There were no injuries and no reports of structural damage. The cause is undetermined.

Firefighters from Emporia and Olpe have responded to a grass fire Friday afternoon.
Fire was reported near the intersection of Roads 160 and G just west of Emporia around 3:45 pm. A cause has not been confirmed.
Lyon County deputies are assisting on the call.
