Part of the Emporia Senior Center’s reset involves a push to fill its Board of Directors, which is fully underway at this time.
The Senior Center has three open positions, and it has set a 1 pm March 8 deadline for submissions. Applications are available at the Senior Center’s front desk during its weekday operating hours of 9 am to 1 pm.
The Senior Center’s current board has been working to re-engage with the community at large following the resignation of previous CEO and president Ian Boyd last month. The board has restarted bingo on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons and has started some new activities, including a Coffee and Chat event at 9:30 am Mondays so residents can get questions answered from current Board President and Acting Director Jan Loux.
