A bridge is central Greenwood County will be replaced this year, with work set to begin next week.
The bridge is on US Highway 54 over Homer Creek, about four miles east of the highway’s junction with Kansas Highway 99.
The Kansas Department of Transportation says the new bridge should open late this year. The current bridge will be replaced one half at a time with temporary traffic signals used to control one-lane traffic. There will be brief delays for travelers through the project.
Bridges Inc of Newton won the project with a $3.8 million bid.
