Five Hornets have been named to the 2024 All-MIAA teams by the conference on Tuesday. From the men’s team, Alijah Comithier was First Team All-MIAA, Owen Long was named to the Second Team, Atavian Butler was Honorable Mention, while Darius Yohe was named to the All-Defensive team. Comithier finished third in the league in scoring this season while Long led the league in 3-point percentage. Butler scored in double figures 16 times for the Hornets this year while Yohe finished the regular season second in the country in blocked shots. The Hornets are 19-11 and will open the MIAA Tournament against Lincoln on Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
From the women’s team, Faith Paramore received Third Team All-MIAA honors. Paramore had the second most double-doubles in ‘The Association’ this year with 12 and ranked third in rebounding and ninth in scoring while averaging 14.7 ppg and 8.5 rpg. The Lady Hornets open the MIAA Tournament against Northeastern State Wednesday at 12:00 p.m.
