Emporia City Commissioners are convening for their regular action and study meetings Wednesday, with several notable items on both agendas.
As part of the action agenda, commissioners will consider approving a contract with GMLV architecture firm for the design phase of the city’s new Emporia Fire Station. A resolution regarding the intent to issue industrial revenue bonds for the Gazette Collective project, a public hearing to close out a CDBG project at 17 West 4th Avenue and a resolution to request Lyon County Commissioners to make certain findings regarding the annexation of property into the city limits will also be considered.
Commissioners could also potentially award a waterline project in Industrial Park III to S.R. Coffman Construction for just over $573,000, approve a memorandum of understanding with Emporia State University and adopt an event fencing policy to close out their action agenda.
During their regular study session, commissioners will discuss a recent community survey and have their first strategic visioning session.
The action meeting will begin at 11 am inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium. The study session will follow inside of City Conference Room 1AB.
