The Emporia High girls soccer team opened its season Tuesday night with a 4-0 victory over Junction City. Emporia High scored three times in the first half, with junior Katie Smart recording the hat trick. Freshman Emersyn Johnson scored her first career goal in the second half. Emporia High is now 1-0 on the season and 1-0 in Centennial League play. The Lady Spartans will be back in action on Monday in the Titan Classic in Wichita.
