The Kansas State men’s basketball team was knocked out of the NIT in the first round 91-82 by No. 3 seed Iowa in Iowa City last night. The Hawkeyes dumped 50 points on the Wildcats in the first half to lead 50-39 at the break. K-State cut the deficit to four twice in the second half but couldn’t get any closer. Each team shot 48% from the field but Kansas State was just 8-for-30 from the 3-point line while Iowa finished 11-for-23 and outscored Kansas State 22-8 from the free throw line. Dai Dai Ames led Kansas State with 16 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the field while hitting 4 of 5 3-pointers. Cam Carter added 13 points. The Wildcats finish the year 19-15.
