Believe it or not, it’s time for some parents to pre-register their children for classes next year.
Pre-registration processes got started Tuesday for kindergartens at Emporia schools as well as the district’s Jones Early Childhood Development Center. On the KVOE Showcase with Superintendent Allison Anderson-Harder, Director of Community Relations Lyndel Landgren urged parents and guardians to go to the district website, usd253.org, to get started.
Parents needing help can also go to their students’ schools April 19 or April 22 for in-person assistance.
If this seems like an earlier start than normal, you’re right. Landgren says USD 253 is starting a month earlier than normal so the district knows how many spots are available for open enrollment, which begin April 8 for kindergarten and preschool.
