An annual Emporia breakfast tradition is on the schedule for this weekend.
The 76th annual Kiwanis Club Pancake Feed is set for Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Anderson Building on the Lyon County Fairgrounds.
On KVOE’s Newsmaker 2 Segment on Thursday, Kiwanis Club member Kathryn Wilkerson says the event can’t be put on without the help of all the Kiwanis Club members and their volunteers.
Community members can enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes along with two links of Fanestil Bacon Sausage with a choice of milk, water, or coffee to drink. Additional servings of sausage or milk are available for $1 each.
Proceeds from the event will help with numerous community causes, mainly for children around the Lyon County area according to Kiwanis Club member Martha Scott.
Tickets are $8 in advance and are available at Country Mart, the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce, Mark II Lumber, Trolley House Distillery, Waters Hardware and Sutherlands. Tickets go up to $10 at the door and children under five can eat for free. Tickets can also be purchased online on the Kiwanis Club of Emporia’s Facebook Page.
