A cloudy but relatively calm day awaits Saturday. Calm is not part of the picture Sunday into Monday.
Saturday will have light breezes as we climb to the low 50s for high temperatures. Sunday, however, will see south winds steadily at 20-30 mph areawide. Southerly wind gusts could be anywhere from 40-60 mph before we see a marginal risk for severe weather by late Sunday night, with slightly higher wind gusts as the main threat.
Blustery conditions are also expected for at least part of Monday, with gusts between 40-50 mph possible. As a result, the National Weather Service has put all area counties in a wind advisory from 7 am Sunday to 10 am Monday.
Winds at these speeds will blow around unsecured objects, including Polycarts. They will also make travel difficult for high-profile vehicles, especially those traveling eastbound or westbound, and they could well lead to several power outages across the area.
As far as rain is concerned, chances of precipitation are high but the chances of significant precipitation are low areawide. The National Weather Service expects up to half an inch of rain with isolated higher amounts.
