Residents wanting to learn about volunteer opportunities through Flint Hills RSVP — as well as the latest scam and fraud efforts targeting seniors — can learn about both during a special event soon.
The North Central-Flint Hills Area Agency on Aging has two sessions taking place at the Fairgrounds Bowyer Community Building on Tuesday. Residents can learn more about volunteer opportunities, whether they are currently active in RSVP or not. There will also be information from the Area Agency on Aging on certain services like the Senior-to-Senior Program, Medicare benefits, wellness programs and in-home services.
In addition, Kansas Legal Services attorney Dom Cavicchia will have information about frauds and scams aimed at elderly residents and their caregivers.
Sessions are from 9-11:30 am and from 12:30-3 pm Tuesday. A light breakfast will be served with the morning session, while there will be lunch with the afternoon session. Registration is requested by noon Monday. Call 855-340-8001 or email sherryk@ncfhaaa.org to register.
