Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters Serving Lyon County is looking for a new leader.
Director Jacque Wellnitz has accepted a role as development manager at CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness. She says her work at Big Brothers Big Sisters will dovetail well with her new role.
Wellnitz became director in 2021, following Dena Russell in that role. She thanked Big Brothers Big Sisters for the opportunity to serve the community as agency director. She now begins work on several CrossWinds events, including the Stand Up to Stigma comedy event May 5.
Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters offers one-on-one mentoring for children in need of a strong positive role model. Bigs are matched with littles based on similar interests, goals, personalities, and other criteria. Plans for a Big Brothers Big Sisters local director have not been announced.
