Several Lyon County fire departments responded to a reported brush fire in northeast Lyon County on Sunday and they are back again early Monday.
Crews from Allen-Admire, Miller and Reading were initially dispatched to the intersection of Roads 310 and T, about four miles southeast of Admire, six miles southeast of Miller and just northwest of the Kansas Turnpike at around 5 pm. They were soon repositioned closer to the Ivy Cemetery, about half a mile north of the initial report.
Early indications are the fire got into a tree line near the cemetery.
Allen-Admire, Miller and Reading were dispatched back to the initial fire area shortly after 5 am Monday for trees on fire. Other details are currently pending.
The fires near Ivy Cemetery followed grass fires Saturday near Roads 390 and X, the 1200 block of Road J and Kansas Turnpike mile marker 152 southbound.
