A man will spend over 20 years in prison after sentencing in Lyon County District Court on Monday.
Christopher Garr had reached a plea agreement on four counts of sexual exploitation, reflecting incidents with at least one child under age 18 in July 2021, May 2022 and May 2023. The agreement included counts of employment, promoting a performance and possessing varying forms of media.
Judge Laura Miser approved an upward departure on the sentence, citing aggravating factors like the vulnerability of the victim and a fiduciary relationship.
Garr also has lifetime postrelease supervision. He also has to register as a sex offender for 25 years.
