Evergy customers who have fallen behind on their monthly bills and are struggling to catch up may be eligible for help from the utility.
The Evergy Cares Kansas Fund is designed to help customers who are behind and have income up to 200 percent of the federal poverty level. Customers in this category can get up to a $200 credit, while residents age 65 and older or receiving permanent disability income can get up to a $400 credit.
Residents can go to evergy.com/evergycares for information or to apply. Evergy will then respond to set up a virtual appointment.
