The Emporia High boys golf team will have lots of experience when it opens the season on Thursday.
Emporia High returns four golfers from a state team that qualified for the final day at state a season ago. All four golfers are juniors, Nolan Jacob, Hudson Sauder, Jared Johnson, and Will Walker. Rounding out the Spartans’ lineup will be senior Finneas Reynolds and freshman Marley Harter.
Emporia High coach Rick Eckert likes the top four he has back after Caden Massey was the lone Spartan who graduated.
Jacob said he’s excited about the season and what they can accomplish.
Emporia High opens up with the Washburn Rural Invitational at Wamego Country Club. The Spartans’ lone home invitational will be on May 6 at Emporia Golf Course.
