Budgetary matters are ahead for the USD 253 Emporia Board of Education with its meeting Wednesday.
The board will consider a notice of hearing to amend the current-year budget after an audit from the Kansas State Department of Education indicated several funds, including the general fund, should be adjusted to reflect increases in certain weightings. If approved, the amended budget would be officially repubublished April 27 and a public hearing would be held May 8.
In other business, board members could approve a door replacement for the Emporia High pool and a special education teacher apprentice job description. School bus bids could be let as part of the consent agenda, where several items can be handled with one vote. Two executive sessions are planned, one for attorney consultation and one for personnel matters.
The meeting is at 6 pm Wednesday at Mary Herbert Education Center.
