The court case against one defendant in an apartment complex shooting and robbery from nearly two years ago has worked through Lyon County District Court and is at the last stage for the other defendant.
Keno Hopkins was sentenced to 32 months in prison, reflecting his no-contest plea to aggravated battery and criminal possession of a weapon by a felon. Hopkins was originally charged with five other counts, including aggravated robbery, theft and vehicular burglary, but those were dropped as part of the plea.
Meanwhile, sentencing is coming at the end of May for co-defendant Shedrick Williams, who accepted a plea agreement Thursday afternoon. Initially charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and theft, Williams pleaded no contest to single counts of aggravated battery and burglary. He will be sentenced May 31.
Both men were accused of using a handgun to rob Harold Stewart of a cell phone and car keys at the Eastgate Apartment complex in July 2022.
