The Kansas Department of Transportation has several projects underway across parts of the KVOE listening rea.
Next week, KDOT plans to begin a mudjacking project in Coffey, Greenwood and Osage counties. Specific locations haven’t been announced.
Mudjacking is a process where polyurethane foam raises and levels concrete bridge approach slabs, highway panels and shoulder panels. This is usually done at road-to-bridge transition points.
These work zones will have one-lane traffic and brief delays.
Nortex Concrete Lift & Stabilization Inc of Fort Worth, Texas, won the contract with a $135,000 bid. Work should be done by July.
Separately, KDOT will start a resurfacing project on US Highway 400 across much of southwest Greenwood County on Monday. This involves surface recycling and an overlay. Work will go from the Greenwood-Butler county line to the east Kansas Highway 99 junction near Severy.
Flaggers and a pilot car will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone. Delays are expected.
Pearson Construction LLC of Wichita won the contract with a $4.7 million bid. Work should go through June.
