Sarunic Earns Second Player of the Week Award

Emporia State junior Anton Sarunic is the MIAA/GAC North Division Player of the Week for the second time this season.  Sarunic earned the mention after going undefeated in #1 singles and doubles last week with victories in straight sets against Newman and Baker in singles.  He paired with Sergio Vera to pick up doubles wins in those duels.  The Croatian junior is ranked #42 in the country in the current ITA College Tennis NCAA Division II National Rankings.  The Hornets will play an exhibition against Cowley County Community College Friday.  The Hornets will wrap their home schedule against Washburn in a twice-rescheduled Turnpike Tussle now set for next Wednesday.  First serve is set for 2:00 p.m. at the Kossover Family Tennis Center.
