While Earth Day isn’t officially until Monday, a pair of celebrations are coming Saturday.
Earth Day activities will once again be taking place in two sessions Saturday morning and afternoon thanks to a partnership between the Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center and the David Traylor Zoo. Activities will begin at PAROC starting at 10 am and there will be no shortage of activities or information to choose from according to Alex Gentry of PAROC.
The PAROC session will continue until noon before activities shift to the Zoo for its annual Party for the Planet. Much like the PAROC event, Zoo Education Coordinator Kelli Proehl says activities at the zoo will include educational booths where children and families can learn about the history of Earth Day and how they can help keep the environment clean and strong.
Party for the Planet will begin at 1 pm and run through 3 pm. For more information on Earth Day activities visit Emporiazoo.org or ESUParoc.com.
