Emporia city commissioners have their traditional action and study meeting lineup Wednesday.
The action meeting will be first, starting at 11 am at the Municipal Court Room. City commissioners could approve materials contracts for the Southeast Waterline Transmission project and the 2024 Street Rehab project as part of separate items. Commissioners could also pass a resolution officially declining to sell Quaker Park while also removing the park from the city’s surplus property list. This follows a successful protest petition effort after the city had made plans to transfer the property to Emporia Land Bank for the purpose of building three homes, including one for Emporia’s Habitat for Humanity.
The study meeting follows at City Conference Room 1AB. Agenda items include a rough draft review of the city’s strategic plan and an alternate bid discussion for the upcoming Street Rehab program.
