If you’re headed to downtown Emporia for the slate of activities Saturday, be advised the travel flow won’t be normal.
Emporia Police says the 600 and 700 blocks of Commercial will be closed from 8 am to 11 pm with Cinco de Mayo activities for most of the day. The 800 and 900 blocks of Commercial will then be closed from 3-11 pm for the Dynamic Discs Open block party.
Residents are also advised Commercial will be closed between Fourth and Fifth both Saturday and Sunday for the La Grind stage race. In addition, the east half of the 10 block of West Eighth will be closed between 9 am and 10 pm Friday for the Steamroll Event, courtesy of Emporia First Friday and Emporia State University.
