Another Emporia staple bike race is set for this weekend.
La Grind will take place on Saturday and Sunday. Bike riders will ride either 30, 50 or 100 miles on Saturday and 65 miles on Sunday.
With weather potentially being a factor, event spokesperson Tom Hayden says the race is rain or shine, which could cause an adjustment in the start time. He wants the riders to be safe.
Hayden says riders will be coming across the United States for La Grind. Hayden anticipates riders to be arriving back in Emporia at 11 a.m. each day at the start/finish line at 520 Commercial.
Team Coyote will be on hand to wash bicycles after the race. At 5 p.m. Saturday, Leap of Faith Martial Arts will be performing in the street.
Funds from La Grind will go to Handlebars and Hope.
