Hundreds of Emporia State University students are set to enter the next chapter of their lives this weekend.
ESU will be holding its commencement activities Friday and Saturday at Emporia’s William L. White Auditorium.
ESU Registrar Sheila Markowitz tells KVOE News this is an “ironic time” for her office.
Candidates for graduate degrees will get their diplomas at 6 pm Friday, while candidates for undergraduate degrees will have their ceremony begin at 9:30 am Saturday. Auditorium doors will open to the public 90 minutes before the ceremonies officially start and with more than 300 graduates set to be honored both days, Dean of the Graduate School Dr. Jerald Spotswood says friends and family should not wait too long to arrive.
Kansas Board of Regents member Wint Winter will be offering comments during Friday’s ceremony with fellow Regent Blake Benson set to address graduates at Saturday’s commencement.
