A man who pleaded no contest to violating the state’s offender registry act laws was sentenced Wednesday.
Richard Dean Doan Jr, age 57, was originally charged with one count of aggravated violations and three of regular violations. He pleaded no contest to the regular violation counts in March, so the remaining count was dismissed.
Judge Jeff Larson sentenced Doan to two years probation with an underlying prison term of 46 months.
Doan had been convicted and served prison time for two sets of crimes against children in 1997, one involving rape of a child under the age of 14 in Miami County and the other involving rape, aggravated indecent liberties and contributing to a child’s misconduct in Bourbon County.
