Emporia Spartan Boxing’s Junior Robles begins his campaign for a national championship in Detroit, Michigan Monday evening.
Robles is set for first-round action at the 2024 Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions where he will face Isai Vaelazco Ortiz of West Valley City, Utah in the 147 lbs weight division. Robles, a three-time national qualifier and three-time state and regional Golden Gloves champion is competing in his second National Tournament following a first-round defeat at the 2022 national tournament defeated in his opening-round bout at the 2022 National Tournament held in Oklahoma.
Emporia Spartan Boxing Head Coach Lucas Gorton says Robles is bringing far more experience to the ring this time, and fundamentals will be the key to victory.
