Besides a conversation on Emporia’s potential new skate park, there is a lot on the Emporia City Commission agenda for its meetings Wednesday.
The action meeting involves possible approval of the city’s 2024-2026 strategic plan as well as recommended action on two infrastructure projects, including proposed street and underground improvements on Overlander Road between US Highway 50 and West Sixth Avenue as well as the KDOT CCLIP project for geometric improvements on Commercial Street between the Soden’s Grove bridge and Kansas Avenue.
The skate park conversation will happen in the study session to follow, as well as discussions about an economic development consultant, the 2025 budget and proposals for operating the Emporia Animal Shelter.
The action session begins at 11 am at the Municipal Court Room. The study session follows in White Auditorium City Conference Room 1AB.
