Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach is suing Biden administration over a Title IX wording change.
The change is from the word “sex” to “gender identity,” which Kobach says is against federal law and opens school districts to losing federal funds if schools don’t allow teenaged biological girls to share hotel rooms with boys who identify as girls. Kobach also says the new rule will also “incentivize” abortion and cause sex harassment-related due process problems at colleges and universities. In addition, Kobach says this rule change also violates First Amendment rights of teachers and school staff who have religious views opposing this change.
Alaska, Wyoming and Utah are also included in the lawsuit.
