The Emporia-Lyon County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has zoning requests involving a trio of local addresses as part of its monthly meeting Tuesday.
Board members have a request for a Transitional Housing conditional use permit involving 115 East Logan. Southwick House has targeted that property for its brand-new transitional housing facility benefiting women in crisis situations.
Board members also have two rezoning requests from single-family attached to civic/public status, one involving 518 South Congress to correct improperly-listed zoning for Investors Development of Emporia and one involving 518 Market so the city can start the process to build a new fire station. In all three cases, Planning Commission members are poised to hold public hearings before making recommendations to the Emporia City Commission.
The meeting starts at 6 pm Tuesday at the Municipal Court Room.
