A familiar face in Emporia’s business community is going to Emporia State University.
Kala Maxfield is Emporia State’s new executive director for engagement. Her on-campus role begins with community and university conversations to determine exactly how ESU engages with external organizations. It will also include academic departments, athletics, alumni association, foundation and other on-campus groups.
In a way, Maxfield is returning to ESU. Maxfield is an Emporia State alum, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is currently the Midwest region director for Clearwave Fiber, with prior marketing work for the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce, CableOne and ValuNet Fiber.
