Power has been restored to a large part of Emporia after an outage developed Thursday morning.
The outage impacted an area from Walnut Park west to the Industrial Road corridor and south to the Lyon County Highway Department, forcing Village School to send parents wanting summer meals to Riverside Elementary and trigging outages at several Flinthills Mall stores. Several stoplights were also offline through the outage.
The fire developed after a possible transformer fire atop a pole in the 1200 block of Prairie.
